Halsey recently took to Instagram to show off her new ink on the backside of her hand, which she got in honor of her late rapper friend Juice WRLD.
The words on her hand read “Life’s a mess 999,” which is a reference to the title of the collaboration track that she and the singer worked on prior to his sudden passing in December of 2019.
The song is included on Juice WRLD’s posthumous album, Legends Never Die, which features previously unreleased tracks that the rapper had been working on.
Additionally, 999 was the rapper’s favorite number and also named his merchandise collection after the same.
“Juice was one of the greatest people I have ever known, and one of the most brilliant artists we will ever live to witness. A true genius who had lyric and melody spilling out of him without any second thought or hesitation. And a beautiful soul who believed in spreading love and creating a community for people to feel less alone,” Halsey wrote alongside a photo of the new tattoo.
She added, “It means everything to me that I could be a part of this album. I cried the first time that I heard it. With all the love in my heart, #lljw – ‘Life’s A Mess.’”
“Legends Never Die” was released on Friday, July 10.
