Ed Sheeran Jumps To No. 1 On Billboard Artist 100

Ed Sheeran has returned to the top of Billboard Artist 100, jumping from No. 10 to No. 1 on the chart dated May 20.

This is the 15th total week that Sheeran has been the top musical act in the United States, tying Ariana Grande.

Taylor Swift holds the record for spending the most number of weeks (65) at No. 1 on the Artist 100.

– (pronounced Subtract), which is the singer-songwriter’s sixth studio album, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 112,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending on May 11, according to Luminate.

Two songs from Subtract – lead single “Eyes Closed” at No. 19, and “Curtains” at No. 97 – are on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
