The official trailer for Oscar-winner Tyler Perry‘s upcoming crime thriller Mea Culpa features Kelly Rowland, who plays the character of defense attorney Mea Harper in the movie.
In the movie, Mea takes up the case of Zyair Malloy (played by Trevante Rhodes), an artist who is alleged to have murdered his girlfriend.
“You have no idea who he is,” Mea is told in the clip. “A snake is never violent when stalking their prey. It’s only when they get right into striking distance that they become very violent.”
Mea Culpa, described as a “crazy sexy thriller,” is written and directed by Perry. The movie marks Perry’s first collaboration with Rowland and her fifth project with Netflix.
Perry and Rowland co-produced the movie with Dianne Ashford, Will Areu, and Angi Bones.
RonReaco Lee, Sean Sagar, Nick Sagar and Shannon Thornton are among the artists starring in the crime thriller, which is scheduled to arrive on February 23.
