Pop superstar Taylor Swift has become the latest music celebrity to speak out against racial inequality and to come forward in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“Racial injustice has been ingrained deeply into local and state governments, and changes MUST be made there,” Swift tweeted along with the Black Lives Matter hashtag and three raised fists.
She added, “In order for policies to change, we need to elect people who will fight against police brutality and racism of any kind.”
Swift also posted a link to an article written by former President Barack Obama and posted on Medium, entitled “How to Make This Moment the Turning Point for Real Change,” which calls for major changes to deal with racism.
“We need to fight for in-mail voting for the 2020 election,” Swift wrote in another tweet, sharing a Vote.org resource. “No one should have to choose between their health and having their voice heard.”
