The pop star was named artist of the year, while her hit single with Ariana Grande, “Rain On Me,” won her awards for best collaboration, song of the year, and Best Cinematography.
Lady Gaga also won the first-ever MTV Tricon Award. Meanwhile, Grande bagged four awards.
The duo, both masked, also staged the debut performance of “Rain on Me” during the star-studded, mask-centric two-hour event.
BTS dominated in Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Best Group.
The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” was adjudged the best Video of the Year. It was also selected as Best R&B.
The Canadian artist dedicated his two awards speeches to justice for Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor.
Taylor Swift earned her first award in the directing category for her work helming “The Man.”
